Celebrate! Not Why - Why Not?

angry jack o lantern

It is my opinion that we do not spend enough time celebrating - as a society. We do, however, spend a whole bunch of time lamenting and a fair amount of time problem solving, but we seem to have reassigned our celebration time to other things.

"Why?", you ask, "Why should we celebrate more?"

We shouldn't be asking why. We should be asking why not? I've given a lot of thought to all of those dusty, lonely bottles of unopened champagne and I'm compelled to start a campaign to spread more celebration!

There is satisfaction and joy in claiming a milestone and an accomplishment; even the small ones. Maybe especially the small ones. And to share those things with others…bliss! The world needs more celebration.

Where are all the party horns? Whatever happened to party hats - you know, the cone shaped ones with the elastic band that goes under your chin and hurts like the devil if it snaps and smacks you? And what about confetti? When along this journey did we stop throwing confetti? Who's idea was that? I want confetti back in my life. And we can't forget about sprinkles. There is sheer joy in sprinkles. I defy you to see sprinkles on, well anything, and not see the fancy in that!

Still feel you can't celebrate without a reason? Well then, let's build a few. We closed Q1 2021, so let's assess what you've accomplished so far this year.

How have you grown professionally? Count the small steps. They lead to big ones.

What have you done to grow your business?

What was the best thing that happened since January 1st?

Is there something that you let go of because it is no longer serving you?

What new challenge have you embarked on?

I'm convinced that you have a lot to celebrate. Don't ask why, ask why not. And buy some sprinkles on your way home. Everybody needs sprinkles.

How Do You Know?

I was scrolling through my Instagram account the other day. My finger traveling lazily over the screen, my eyes going from one post to the next, not really focused in on any one thing...and then I saw it. The post read,

"You don't know what you don't know, you know?".

I sat up. Yeah, yeah, I do know. I totally get that. I sat up straighter. Totally focused on the post. I thought, 'I have to share this' because if I could brand my company with just one line, this would be it!

You see, the number one key to any kind of change is awareness. In order to grow, you need to be aware of your need to learn, stretch, change; aware of what's holding you back; aware of the first step toward progress.

But wait, what happens if you don't know what you don't know? Well, that's where I come in. As a success coach, I specialize in helping you to identify what you don't know. As a matter of fact, most people embark on coaching with a desire to attain a goal or a frustration because they have reached a plateau and don't know how to break through. Rarely (seriously, almost never) can we recognize the full extent of what is keeping us from getting there. Ta-da, enter awareness! Double ta-da, enter a me, a professional success coach!

So if you've recently become aware that you don't know what you don't know, AND, if you want to know, well then here I am, at the ready to help you explore, identify and level up!
